I am a what-you-see-is-what-you-get type of person.

I am fun to know, although sometimes difficult to pin down. I like trying my ideas our in conversation, flitting from topic to another. Although I enjoy sharing my thoughts with others, I never impose on my views upon them. I easily make friends; and, I love being around them. However, not all of them make it to my list of Lifetime Friends. I got my father's sense of humor and my mother's compassionate heart. I value true friends a lot. I am able to make a lot of people laugh--or, at least smile. I am pretty much a typical Gemini.

I find motivation in seemingly unconnected ideas and then synthesize all of them together into something new, unique, and interesting ones. I love details. I share stories or experiences in a detailed fashion. I also tend to expect the same from other people like my boyfriend and my kids. I enjoy helping others. I often voice out different ideas and opinions, and seem to change my mind every so often; but in reality, I only mean to sharing my decision making process.

As a mother, my characteristics are quite similar to that of a Mama Tiger. I will walk through fire to protect my children or to defend them from others. As warm and affectionate as I am, I can become fierce and defensive when my kids are at stake. Whenever possible, I love providing my kids with treats and shower them with generosity. My children and I love playing family games together and get great enjoyment from it. I love my children's company, having a good laugh, and sharing funny jokes. Still, I could get enraged if one of my kids has gone too far, or is disrespectful. As open-minded and liberal as I am, I will not, under any circumstances, tolerate bad manners, or a lack of respect for others.

The most important people in my life are my children, my boyfriend, my parents, my siblings, and a few select friends. Although I am not very happy with my current job, I still give my best when taking on tasks that are assigned to me. I always do my best to meet my employer's expectations of me--and even go beyond it, sometimes.

Twilight: The Movie

I had started reading this Stephanie Meyer book, Twilight--the first of the four books in the Twilight Saga--back in June, before getting busy with so many other things. Unfortunately, I hadn't gotten very far into reading it.

In the past two weeks, I have already finished reading two books--Dan Brown's Angels and Demons and Torey Hayden's Beautiful Child. Now, I'm looking for another book to read. Just last night, I remembered that I have copies of the complete Twilight Saga in pdf format. However, before I opened the file, I thought of checking out Stephanie Meyer's official website. Surprisingly, I found that a Twilight movie has already been made; and it's currently being shown in theaters. This has caused me to go back to the book and, this time, finish reading it. The only disadvantage of having the pdf copy of the book is that I am unable to take it with me wherever I go, unless I bring my laptop with me. (I don't want to print it out because that would use up too much paper. We have to save our trees.) Actually, I can do that, but it will just cause me inconvenience compared with carrying just the book itself.

I'll try to read a few pages. I've been very sad since last night. I'll do my best to set this feeling aside and concentrate on the book.

not possible

n o t p o s s i b l e . . .

Sigh! I thought it was going to be easy for me to post a journal entry at the end of each day. Well, apparently, that's something that would be difficult for me to do with my schedule.

I am a live-in care giver in a residential facility for the elderly with Dementia; and, I do not have the luxury of time to always be on the internet. As a matter of fact, I am currently at work--just ended the day. I should sleep shortly--as soon as possible--after the last resident goes to bed because if I don't then I will lack sleep for the reason that I have to also get up when any of them gets up in the middle of night to make sure they don't get hurt. By the way, in case I haven't mentioned yet; only one care giver sleeps here with the oldies. Therefore, I am the only one here tonight.

I had a very long day today. There are normally two caregivers attending to the needs of five residents in this facility and doing all housekeeping chores, although commonly, the ratio of care giver to resident is 1:6. However today, I was all by myself because one of our residents passed away last Friday. (She was 95 years old.) So there are now just four of them.

My back and shoulders are killing me!

I need a massage, BIG TIME!

Tomorrow night is my last night here at work. My shift ends at 2:00 PM on Thursdays. Oh! I can't wait!

I always look forward to my days off because those are the days when I don't have to worry about anything but to rest and spend time with MyHub!

frozen fingers and toes

The heating system in this apartment unit is terrible. I've been freezing my a** off since I got home from work last night.

You would think that the temperature at my workplace should be lower because that's up north. But, no! It's way colder here at home than there. Ricky said these apartments units don't seem to be well-insulated.

I have decided to turn the portable heater on to keep me warm.

I have been holding back from using it because I didn't want to use too much electricity here at my cousin's place. But I couldn't help it anymore. I'm freezing, and all my joints are aching.

at last ...

Finally, I have come around to setting up a blog site to share my new experiences to the world.

I have been in the U.S. since June 7, 2008. I have already gone to several places, taken tons of photos, and visited some friends and relatives; yet, I haven't found the time to post photos or to write about those trips till now.

Photo editing and journal writing shouldn't have been a difficult task for me to do, especially since I am not really that busy. The problem is that I start on something and end up not finishing it.

Hmmm... so typically ME!

I will do my best to keep coming back here to update this blog site. My ultimate goal is to post an entry at the end of every day. However, there are times when I have no control over some things that happen around me which could cause me to skip days. If and when that happens, I will make sure to come back with an explanation for doing so.
